Guys like these are a disgrace to the Moonveil. He probably doesn’t even have his upgraded at the slightest.

Colossal weapons aren't like other weapons. They aren't *meant* to be like other weapons. For all the memeing of "unga bunga beeg bonk" they get, colossals force you to learn timing, spacing, and stamina management to a degree that other weapons won't. Anvil hammer in particular is in my opinion one of the best colossals ER has. It has the flat out highest base AR in the game when you spec for it, it gets the standard colossal hyper armor, and its WA is a great tool for forcing people out of your personal space in a pinch since you get not only a metric asston of hyper armor, but as you've seen, the spears that come out linger and if played right can either shield you from anything short of another colossal hitting you as the other guy staggers, or just be a source of damage. Back when swift slash was everywhere the anvil hammer was my hard counter because if you space it right there's genuinely no way to avoid the damage if you try and attack head on. Even if you somehow stagger the person using it out of the WA the spears still come up and hurt whoever's in range as long as the hammer has managed to get close enough to the ground. To use the weapon itself effectively in pvp you mostly rely on the running R2 or a backhop R1. The standard R1 in neutral is better suited for when you're trading or reasonably certain whoever you're fighting doesn't know that you plan to do the three swing chain, so you swing twice and keep it that way until you think they'll try to punish an opening, then pop them with the third.

You no you can press R2 on PS after that and you will start doing a crazy swing thats super fast that will hit faster then anything in the game 😮

High level elden ring pvp is mostly just "who's ash of war is more cancer". They should bring back weapon skills costing durability or give them a set about of charges. Also increase the FP cost of spells by like 50%

It's not broken this AoW can be easily parry or set up parry. HA is broken passiv gameplay is broken LGS ate broken but this weapon is far about being a broken stuff

tbh ive always liked things like the beast man cleaver running heavy attack and falx is like the natural successor to that. but i do not think that such attacks should have hyper armor. the variable release timing on falx is strong enough as it is. and i like the poise damage buff because the duel curved swords always felt inferior to 2 handing them imo. single shamshir was always better.

The counter to this is it's the easiest attack to parry in the game. If you miss the first attack parry just hit parry again and you'll parry the follow up. Also you can just do a jump attack to counter it if parry isn't an option.
